About the Role:

As a Corporate & Compliance Lawyer, you will play a central role in strengthening the company's legal and regulatory framework. You will be responsible for the interpretation, implementation, and monitoring of legal requirements, ensuring full compliance with current laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal & Regulatory Compliance

  • Systematically monitor, analyze, and interpret the legal and regulatory framework governing the company's operations (Legislation on listed and unlisted companies, maritime law, commercial law, tourism law, etc.).
  • Provide legal advisory support for managing emerging regulatory risks and adapting to new legislative developments.
  • Offer support in critical legal compliance areas such as AML (Anti-Money Laundering), GDPR, ESG, Cybersecurity, and DORA, ensuring the correct application of relevant provisions.
  • Draft, review, and manage legal documents and corporate policies related to compliance.
  • Communicate and collaborate with supervisory authorities, auditing bodies, and external legal counsel to resolve legal issues.
  • Prepare legal reports for management on compliance matters and legal risks.

Corporate Governance

  • Provide legal support for the design, implementation, and control of the company's internal policies, procedures, and safety measures.
  • Participate in ensuring compliance with the provisions of current legislation on corporate governance (e.g., Greek Laws 4706 and 4548).
  • Draft resolutions, minutes, and other corporate documents related to the company's administrative operations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Law degree from a university and a valid license to practice law.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience at a law firm, a company's legal department, or in a similar Compliance/Corporate Governance role.
  • Specialized knowledge in areas such as Commercial Law, Company Law, and Capital Markets Law.
  • Excellent knowledge of the current legal framework for regulatory compliance (e.g., AML, GDPR).
  • Professional certifications in compliance, audit, or governance (such as CIA/IIA, COSO IC, ESG) will be considered a strong asset.
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken) with proficiency in legal terminology.
