Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Back-End Engineer to join our data team. You will contribute to backend architecture, geospatial data handling, and scalable API development. This role requires strong technical depth, ownership, and effective communication across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy robust RESTful APIs using FastAPI and Python.
  • Work with geospatial data and APIs, applying algorithms and processing techniques.
  • Manage and design databases, with a focus on PostgreSQL and PostGIS.
  • Optimize applications for speed, reliability, and scalability.
  • Implement security, authentication, and authorization best practices.
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation for APIs and system architecture.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend developers, data scientists, and product managers.
  • Utilize Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services for deployment and scaling.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, including Flask and FastAPI.
  • Experience designing RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, PostGIS, and ORMs such as SQLAlchemy.
  • Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration tools.
  • Proven 5–8 years of experience in software development.
