Α' Waiter

MISSION / PURPOSE

Welcomes and seats guests, takes guest and serves orders and assists the operation of the department according to processes and guidelines.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Greets and escorts guests to their tables
• Presents menu and provides detailed information whe asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
• Prepares tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
• Informs guests about the day's specials
• Offers menu recommendations upon request
• Up-sells additional products when appropriate
• Takes accurate food and drinks orders
• Communicates order details to the Kitchen Staff
• Serves food and drink orders
• Checks dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
• Arranges table settings and maintains a tidy dining area
• Delivers checks and collects bill payments
• Carries dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
• Meets with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g. parties)
• Provides excellent customer service to guests
• Adheres to H&S / HACCP regulations and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent knowledge of serving drinks and food as per the restaurant menu
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills with both external and internal customers
• Endurance to walk and stand for long hours
• Multitasking
• HACCP knowledge / Ability to keep the restaurant premises organized and tidy at all times
• Flexible work hours
• Computer literacy (PC, POS)
• Very good command of English language

Desirable:

• A second language

EXPERIENCE

1-2 years as a waiter in luxury hotels
