Job Overview:
We are seeking a versatile and proactive
IT Network Engineer
with a strong foundation in
networking, cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure), Linux system administration, and MySQL database management
. Additional hands-on experience with
MikroTik
and
Ubiquiti
network devices is highly desirable. This role involves a mix of network architecture, systems engineering, and cloud administration, with occasional travel for troubleshooting and infrastructure maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Network Engineering
- Design, deploy, monitor, and maintain LAN/WAN infrastructure.
- Administer and troubleshoot networking equipment including switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless access points.
- Work with
MikroTik
routers and
Ubiquiti
networking solutions (UniFi, EdgeMAX) to ensure efficient connectivity and performance. - Manage network services: DHCP, DNS, NAT, VPNs, VLANs, firewalls, and remote access.
- Maintain robust security configurations and network segmentation.
Cloud Administration
- Configure and manage AWS services: EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS (MySQL), Route 53, etc.
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud solutions on
Microsoft Azure - Monitor and improve the performance, security, and reliability of cloud environments
- Manage Azure services including
VMs, App Services, Azure Functions, AKS, Storage Accounts, VNet, and Key Vault - Enforce best practices for security, backup, scaling, and monitoring using AWS-native tools.
System Administration
- Provision, monitor, and maintain
Linux
servers (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL). - Perform patch management, backup strategy implementation, and user access control.
- Monitor systems for performance and security using tools like Prometheus, Nagios, or Grafana.
Database Administration (MySQL)
- Install and configure MySQL/MariaDB servers.
- Perform daily maintenance including backups, replication, recovery, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with developers on schema design and query optimization.
Field Support / Travel
- Travel approximately
5-10 %
of the time to
regional or remote sites
to: - Diagnose and resolve infrastructure and connectivity issues.
- Install or upgrade physical networking or server hardware.
- Perform on-site audits and preventive maintenance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Minimum of
5 years of hands-on experience
in IT infrastructure and systems administration. - Advanced knowledge of
AWS cloud services
,
Linux server environments
, and
MySQL databases
. - Experience with configuring and supporting enterprise-grade networks.
- Familiarity with
MikroTik
RouterOS and
Ubiquiti
UniFi / EdgeMAX hardware and software. - Strong scripting and automation abilities.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- AWS certifications (SysOps Administrator, Solutions Architect, etc.).
- Azure certifications (e.g.,
AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-400
) - MikroTik Certified Network Associate (MTCNA) or Ubiquiti certification (UEWA).
- Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, KVM) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with SCADA SYSTEMS.
Soft Skills
- Effective communicator with excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and remotely.
- Strong documentation habits and team collaboration abilities.
- Willingness to travel for site support and hands-on troubleshooting.
