About Us
Maven Synthesis, a dynamic startup and proud member of Elevate Greece, is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Software Engineer to join our core product team. We are part of the Maven Global Group, a London-based financial advisory firm regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Our team advises corporates, private equity funds, and governments on financial risks, including interest rates, currencies, energy, commodities, and cryptocurrencies. Maven has received multiple awards, including the Seal of Excellence by the European Commission's Innovation Council.
About the role
As a Junior Software Engineer at Maven Synthesis, you will play a vital role in developing our core product to meet the needs of our expanding customer base. Your work will involve both front-end and back-end development, contributing to customer-facing and internal services. You will also help operationalize Maven's cutting-edge quantitative analytics models. You'll be mentored by experienced engineers who will guide you through our cloud-native software services stack and help you hone your software craftsmanship using industry best practices and tools.
How you will make an impact
- Develop and maintain both front-end and back-end components of our core product.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to implement and operationalize state-of-the-art quantitative analytics and ML models.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to a high-performance, high-quality codebase.
- Continuously improve your skills through mentorship and by using industry-leading tools and frameworks.
- Assist in accommodating the expanding needs of our customer base with innovative solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience programming in Java, Python, and/or JavaScript.
Nice to haves
- Experience developing single-page applications with
- Familiarity with Quarkus and/or Spring Boot frameworks.
- Background in Statistics, Machine Learning, or Fintech.
