Position:
Hotel Manager
Department: Administration & General
Reporting: Owner/Managing Director
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversees daily operations functions of the hotel according to the Organizational chart.
- Holds regular briefings and meetings with all head of departments to overview performance and propose corrective actions
- Ensures full compliance to Hotel operating controls, SOP's, policies, procedures, and brand standards.
- Leads all key property issues including capital projects, customer service and refurbishment.
- Handles complaints and oversees service recovery procedures
- Responsible for the achievement of hotel's annual Operating Budget, Marketing & Sales Plan
- Manage on-going profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded
- Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the hotels and management.
- Developing improvement actions, carry out costs savings.
- A strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies
- Closely monitors hotel's business reports on a daily basis and takes decisions accordingly.
- Ensures that monthly financial outcomes for Rooms, Food & Beverage, Admin & General, on target and accurate.
- Prepares in cooperation with consulting company various reports for the owners and stakeholders.
- Helping in the procurement of operating supplies and equipment and contracting with third-party vendors for essential equipment and services.
- Act as a final decision maker in hiring key staff and monitors HR procedures in cooperation with HODs
- Overseeing and managing all departments and working closely with department heads on a daily basis.
- Be accountable for responsibilities of department heads and take ownership of all guest complaints.
- Provide effective leadership to hotel team members.
- Leads in all aspects of business planning.
- Responds to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.
- Corporate client handling and take part in new client acquisition along with the sales team whenever required.
- Responsible for safeguarding the quality of operations (internal & external audits).
- Responsible for legalization, Occupational Health & Safety Act, GDPR, fire regulations and other legal requirements.
- Responsible for the supervision and annual certification of the company's quality systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, Green Key, Greek Breakfast, Covid Shield)
- Implements in-house marketing and PR actions.
Prerequisites:
- The ideal candidate is a highly intelligent hotel professional with outstanding skills and extensive hands-on experience.
- Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality, Business Management, or similar course of study. Master's Degree or MBA strongly desirable.
- At least five years of experience at the General Manager level position, with significant luxury and international experience, demonstrating organizational leadership experience.
- Excellent knowledge of English
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Integrity, reliability and accurate reporting
- Strong people management experience
- Flexibility, Multitasking & Ability to solve complex problems
- In-depth understanding of hospitality industry
- Strategic thinking skills and high level of negotiation skills
- Ability to turn a basic idea/target into a work plan and the ability to carry out that plan
- Demonstrated decision making skills and ability to adapt to changing demands, resolve issues of the day, and maintain strategic direction
- Effective team-building skills, the ability to influence and lead people and establishing a motivational work environment
- Demonstrated effectiveness in communication, resolving conflicts, decisiveness, commitment to company objectives
