Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the organization's servers, networks, and systems to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Monitor system performance, security, and reliability; troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Provide L1 support to company's staff
  • Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to recommend improvements and enhancements
  • Design and maintain virtual networks including subnets, routing, access controls, and secure gateways.
  • Implement hybrid networking between on-premises and cloud environments, enabling secure site-to-site and point-to-site connectivity.
  • Enforce network segmentation and traffic controls in line with zero-trust security principles.
  • Support network services such as load balancing, DNS management, and traffic optimization to ensure performance and high availability.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Solid networking knowledge - routing, firewalls (pfsense is a plus), vpns (overlay and site-to-site), dns
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems (Linux, Windows), networking, and server management.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., Proxmox).
  • Experience with Active Directory / Entra ID (former Azure AD) and Office 365 suite
  • Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) for automation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Linux+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001 procedures would be a plus
Desired qualifications
  • Homelab experience
  • Containerisation experience (docker/podman)
  • Familiarity with some DevOps tooling (eg: ansible)
