Job Description

As a Marine Superintendent you will be assigned the responsibility of a group of vessels and by using your experience and knowledge you will assume the full supervision of marine activities of your ships on a daily basis.

Main focus areas are:

  • Ship-to-Ship operations and mooring equipment management
  • Cargo operations and tank cleaning planning and execution
  • Maintaining navigational practices and bridge procedures
  • Scheduled vessels' inspections
  • Port State Control and Flag inspections follow up
  • Supporting regulatory and company policies and performing ISM/ISPS/MLC audits
  • Implementing Industry rules and regulations
  • Monitoring of vessels' expenditure vs operating expenses budget targets
  • Reviewing and approval of ship's stores / consumables

As member of the Marine Department you will report to the Head of Marine and will be supported by colleagues to familiarize yourself with the fleet. To fill this position, you need to have a passion for shipping, team spirit and be highly motivated as an individual. You will join a young and energetic group of highly skilled professionals and be part of the shipping arm of one of the largest commodity trading groups in the world.

Qualifications and Profile

  • Minimum 3 years working experience in a Marine, Vetting or HSQE Superintendent position in tanker shipping companies.
  • Minimum 2 years sea service as Master on tankers.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Good time management. Ability to prioritize requirements/tasks, coping with multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines.
  • Initiative and independence.
  • Strong safety culture.
