Container Platform Engineer

We are continuously growing and we are looking for a
Container Platform Engineer
to join our UniQue CIET team, part of our Professional Services Department.

In this role, you will be responsible for installing, implementing, and maintaining container-based infrastructure environments. You will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient containerized environments using products  such as Openshift , Docker and Kubernetes.

For the
Container Platform Engineer
role we expect you to:

• Install, deploy, and manage OpenShift/Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability.
• Collaborate with development teams to support containerized deployments using OpenShift.
• Monitor and troubleshoot OpenShift/Kubernetes environments, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Implement security best practices for containerized applications and manage user access control and permissions within OpenShift.
• Collaborate with IT security teams to incorporate security policies and procedures into the OpenShift platform.
• Document OpenShift configurations, processes, and procedures, ensuring that best practices are followed.
• Manage container orchestration platforms and ensure high availability.
• Support disaster recovery and backup strategies for containerized systems.

Requirements

Your experience, skillset and qualifications are going to help you succeed in this position, moving forward.

• A University/College Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

• 5+ years of proven hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift and/or other containerization technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes

• Strong understanding of Kubernetes and its application within OpenShift for orchestration and management of containerized applications
• Knowledge of Linux/Unix administration, scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python), and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Ansible)
• Familiarity with cloud services (Azure) and integrating them with OpenShift/ Kubernetes
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative and innovative team environment
• Strong communication and documentation abilities
• Knowledge of container security best practices
• Knowledge of digital certificates (self-signed , PKI , trusted authorites)
