Looking to hire 10 men for the position of: STABLEHAND

Location

Thessaloniki, Greece

Job Description

The work starts very early in the morning (06:00), with feeding the horses.

Then:

cleaning the stables/boxes and surrounding areas,

leading / walking horses according to the daily schedule,

and finally, washing, grooming, and brushing the horses.

The job requires calmness, patience, and genuine love for horses.

It is not suited for individuals with a nervous temperament or who raise their voice.

Because children may also be around, respectful and well-mannered behavior is essential.

Duties & Desired Skills

The stablehand is a vital member of the equine team, responsible for the welfare, health, and maintenance of the horses.

Expected duties and desired skills include:

Monitoring health and behavior of the horses and promptly reporting issues or injuries

Ensuring cleanliness of boxes, stalls, and surrounding areas

Preparing and distributing feed (hay, supplements, water)

Assisting with leading / walking / light training of horses

Maintaining equipment (saddles, bridles, blankets, etc.) and reporting wear or damage

Cooperating with the veterinarian or riding manager for medical or training needs

Following safety procedures and ensuring all areas are secure

Maintaining good communication and discretion when dealing with owners or clients

Απαραίτητα Προσόντα:

  • Age 18 – 45 years
  • Good command of English
  • Politeness, patience, and a calm character
  • Willingness to work in a team and follow instructions
  • Love for animals (especially horses)

  • Accommodation provided on-site.
  • For candidates without previous stablehand experience but familiar with horses:

➤ Salary: €900, with 1–2 days off per week.

  • For candidates with prior experience as stablehands:

➤ Salary: €1,000, with 2 days off per week, plus tips / bonuses ("berbois") from clients who own horses.

  • Christmas and Easter bonuses provided, as well as all entitlements and benefits required by Greek labor law.
  • Salary may increase depending on experience, responsibility, and performance.

Applicants must hold all necessary Greek legal documents, including:

Greek Tax Identification Number (AFM)

Greek Social Security Number (AMKA)

Any other documentation required under Greek labor and social insurance regulations
