The role in detail

We are looking for a senior MLOps / AIOps Engineer to design, implement, and scale the next generation of machine learning and AI infrastructure on Databricks.
You will play a key role in building a unified ML platform that powers multiple ML and AI models across business domains — from data ingestion and feature engineering to model deployment and real-time serving. This is a hands-on and strategic role for an engineer who thrives on enabling robust, automated, and scalable ML workflows in collaboration with data science, platform, and software engineering teams.

The key responsibilities of this role will include:

• Architect and maintain end-to-end ML pipelines for training, evaluation, deployment, and continuous monitoring — using Databricks, MLflow, and related tools.
• Build and manage CI/CD workflows tailored for ML model release, versioning, testing, and rollback.
• Design and operationalize feature pipelines using Databricks Feature Store or similar technologies.
• Implement observability and drift monitoring for both model and data performance (e.g., Evidently AI, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Collaborate with platform teams to optimize GPU/CPU clusters, Delta Live Tables, and Unity Catalog environments for scalability, reproducibility, and compliance.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform and Databricks APIs.
• Champion best practices in MLOps, AIOps, and governance, ensuring secure, compliant, and efficient model lifecycle management.
• Partner with data scientists to move research models to production with minimal friction.
• Evaluate and implement real-time model serving architectures (batch, streaming, or online inference).

To be successful at this role you need the following (hard and soft skills):

• 2+ years of experience in MLOps / ML Platform Engineering in production environments.
• Strong background in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar).
• Proven experience building ML pipelines on Databricks (MLflow, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Feature Store).
• Proficiency in Python, shell scripting, and modern development practices (Git, testing, code reviews).
• Experience with monitoring and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana).
• Familiarity with streaming data architectures (Kafka, Spark Structured Streaming).
• Experience with IaC (Terraform) and workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect).
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of working cross-functionally to deliver scalable ML solutions.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing multi-model architectures and model serving systems at scale.
• Exposure to LLMOps and generative AI deployment patterns on Databricks or similar platforms.
• Knowledge of AIOps tools for intelligent alerting, anomaly detection, and system optimization.
• Certifications: Databricks Certified Machine Learning Professional, Azure AI Engineer Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
