We are currently seeking to hire a QHSE Officer to join a well-established shipping company operating globally. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in maritime safety and compliance, looking to contribute to a high-performing, dynamic environment with international reach.

As a QHSE Officer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, Class rules, Vetting RightShip requirements, and industry standards (ISO 9001)
  • Coordinating and preparing for external inspections conducted by international partners
  • Supporting vessels operating worldwide, adapting to varying time zones as required
  • Maintaining and updating QHSE documentation and records in line with internal procedures and external requirements
  • Conducting internal audits and assisting in the implementation of corrective and preventive actions
  • Liaising with onboard and shore-based personnel to promote a strong safety culture
  • Monitoring fleet-wide performance and safety KPIs, conducting internal audits
  • Promoting a strong safety and environmental culture across both shipboard and shore-based operations
  • Reporting regularly to management regarding safety performance and compliance status

As a QHSE Officer, your qualifications should include:

  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Maritime Studies, Engineering, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar position within a shipping company is essential
  • Strong knowledge of international maritime safety regulations and standards (ISO 9001, Class Rules, Vetting RightShip)
  • High-level computer literacy and familiarity with ERP systems
  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
