Job Overview

As a Senior Port and Diplomatic Affairs Specialist, you will utilize your extensive connections within Greek port institutions (e.g., Piraeus Port Authority) and Greek diplomatic entities (e.g., Ministry of Foreign Affairs) to provide critical insights into port operations, trade policies, and China-Greece bilateral relations. You will analyze Greek maritime trends, advocate for strategic interests in port development and diplomatic engagements, and foster partnerships to strengthen Global Insights' influence in the maritime, trade, and diplomatic domains.

Key Responsibilities

Leverage networks in Greek port authorities (e.g., Piraeus Port Authority, Hellenic Ports Association) and Greek diplomatic bodies (e.g., Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Asia-Pacific Directorate) to obtain firsthand intelligence on port policies, trade agreements, and China-Greece diplomatic initiatives.

Monitor and analyze Greek and bilateral China-Greece policies, including maritime trade, port infrastructure investments, Belt and Road Initiative projects, and regional connectivity strategies.

Develop and maintain relationships with key port operators, government officials, diplomatic stakeholders, and economic partners in Greece and China-related forums.

Provide strategic advice to internal teams and clients on navigating port regulations, trade landscapes, and diplomatic protocols to achieve business objectives.

Advocate for Global Insights' interests in port policy discussions, government consultations, and international maritime and diplomatic forums, with a focus on Piraeus Port developments and China-Greece cooperation.

Produce high-level reports on maritime trends, diplomatic risks, port investment opportunities, and China-Greece economic ties impacting global markets.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in International Relations, Maritime Studies, Public Policy, Economics, Law, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in port affairs, diplomatic relations, public affairs, or trade advocacy, with a focus on maritime and China-Greece bilateral issues.

Established networks within Greek port authorities (e.g., Piraeus Port Authority) and Greek diplomatic bodies (e.g., Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hellenic Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy), with a proven ability to access firsthand port, trade, and diplomatic intelligence.

Strong understanding of Greek port frameworks and China-Greece diplomatic relations, including trade, investment, Belt and Road projects, and regulatory environments.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Greek; proficiency in Mandarin Chinese or additional languages (e.g., French, German) is a plus.

Proficiency in policy analysis, stakeholder mapping, and strategic communication in maritime and diplomatic contexts.

Preferred:

Master's degree or equivalent in International Relations, Maritime Economics, or Public Policy.

Experience working with or within Greek port authorities (e.g., Piraeus Port), Greek diplomatic missions, or international organizations (e.g., International Maritime Organization, China-Greece Joint Business Council).

Familiarity with cross-border port investments, maritime trade negotiations, or China-Greece diplomatic engagements.

Track record of building strategic partnerships in port operations and diplomatic spheres across Greece and China.
