Voyage Accountant

Reports to:
Chief Accountant

Main Function:

Accounting/bookkeeping for voyage (spot) results for vessels on commercial management and/or in Pool.

Responsibility:

• Bookkeeping for all voyage elements (Ports, Bunkers, Freight, demurrage etc.)
• Perform monthly closing and preparation of financial statements for distribution internally and externally.
• Reconcile internal voyage management system to accounting system (Microsoft Dynamics).
• Assist in preparing charter hire statements and commercial management results for all vessels on a weekly/monthly basis.
• Reconciliation of AP ledger to external port expense system
• Perform special projects as requested

Requirements:

• Degree in accounting or finance
• 3 – 7 full years in accounting dep't of a shipping company
• Experience in voyage accounting (voyage revenue and voyage costs) considered a plus
• Strong analytical skills
• Organized, team player able to multitask and work within deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
