About the role

We are looking for an exceptional Integration Architect who can design the blueprints for our future, ensuring our technology landscape is connected, resilient, and ready to scale.

What you'll be doing

The Integration Architect will be a pivotal technical person, responsible for the design, and governance of all integration-related activities. You will be responsible for translating complex business needs into elegant, secure, and scalable technical solutions. You will be a key player in shaping our technical roadmap and ensuring we can deliver on our ambitious business goals. The role will support integration architecture in the context of vendor selection, partnership assessments, and our own technology development.  The role reports functionally to the Chief Business Development Officer and administratively to the Head of IT Architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Integration Leadership: Define and own the overall integration architecture approach for the neobank. This includes selecting appropriate integration patterns (e.g., API-led, event-driven, microservices), tools, and technologies.
• Architectural Design & Governance: Design the integration architecture for new products and features, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and compliant with financial regulations. You will also be responsible for governing integration standards and best practices across development teams.
• Vendors Technical Liaison: Act as a technical liaison with external financial service vendors and technology partners. This involves deeply understanding their technical architecture, APIs, and limitations to propose and design robust, end-to-end integration solutions.
• Technical Feasibility & Estimation: Conduct thorough technical feasibility studies for new initiatives. This includes providing accurate estimations of time, resources, and technical debt, and communicating these clearly to business and product stakeholders.
• Proof of Concepts (POCs): Lead the development and evaluation of POCs for new technologies or vendor integrations to validate their technical viability and business value.
• Technical Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive, high-quality technical specifications and architectural documentation, including data flow diagrams, API contracts, and security protocols.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, business analysts, security engineers, and development teams to ensure technical solutions are aligned with business requirements, security standards, and operational needs.

Requirements

• Experience: [e.g., 7+] years of experience in a senior technical role, with significant experience in solutions architecture, enterprise architecture, or integration architecture, preferably within the fintech or financial services sector.
• Financial Acumen: Strong business understanding of core banking concepts, financial products (e.g., payments, lending, card issuing), and regulatory frameworks (e.g., KYC, AML, PSD2, PCI DSS).

• Technical Expertise:

• Deep knowledge of modern integration patterns, including RESTful APIs, Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), and message queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Familiarity with various databases and data modeling.

• Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve complex integration issues.
