The role:

We are actively looking for a dynamic, highly motivated and skillful Lab Technician.

The Lab Technician will play a critical role in maintaining the efficiency and organization of our electronics lab and repair center. This entry-level position involves managing inventory, maintaining a tidy workspace, handling courier services, and supporting the team with day-to-day operational tasks. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Store electronic parts and components on designated shelves, retrieve parts as needed for lab or repair activities, and maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management systems.
  • Stock Monitoring: Monitor stock levels of electronic components, tools, and supplies, and flag low inventory to assist with preparing new purchase orders.
  • Lab Organization: Keep the electronics lab and repair center clean, tidy, and organized, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored and workspaces are free of clutter.
  • Courier Coordination: Handle incoming and outgoing shipments, including coordinating with courier services, preparing packages, and verifying deliveries.
  • Support Operations: Assist engineering with basic tasks, such as preparing materials for repairs or testing, and follow instructions to support lab workflows.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to lab safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment by maintaining proper storage of hazardous materials and reporting any safety concerns.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: BSc in IT, Life Sciences, Engineering, Business, Finance or equivalent is desired; an associate degree or coursework in relevant domains will also be considered.
  • Experience: No prior experience required, though familiarity with electronics components, inventory management, or lab environments is an advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Intermediate computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry (e.g., Excel, inventory software). Familiarity with electronic components or tools is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new tasks
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and couriers.

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move packages or equipment up to 10kgs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
