is looking for an
HSQE Superintendent
to assist in the excellent HSQE management of the fleet by overseeing and implementing the Company's Policies & Principles.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure the Safety Management System (SMS) implementation according to the ISM, MLC, DryBMS, applicable ISO standards, and industry guidelines.
- Monitor the ships' third-party inspections and audits, follow up on deficiencies, and prepare annual statistics and trends.
- Follow up on International Rules and Regulations and industry requirements.
- Assist the HSQE Manager with the MRC meetings, keep minutes, distribute them accordingly, and monitor any subsequent actions.
- Assist in the coordination of incident investigations, analyze results, and produce annual statistics.
- Initiate and monitor the prompt implementation of any necessary corrective/preventive actions resulting from incident investigations and lessons learned.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of the implementation and effectiveness of the various HSQE programs and Campaigns, in cooperation with all Departments.
- Cooperate with relevant Departments to rectify any issues raised during Company and ship inspections/audits.
- Update the Office and ships' library by purchasing the respective Rules, Regulations, Codes, Guidelines, and Publications.
- Assist in internal Office and ships audits and monitor the internal auditing process.
- Review all non-conformities and incidents reports, assist in initiating the appropriate preventive and corrective actions, and monitor their prompt/correct implementation.
- Assist in verifying the understanding, effectiveness, and proper implementation of the SMS by shore and seagoing personnel by monitoring internal/external audits and inspections results, informing the staff about the necessity of studying the SMS
- Monitor the RA and MoC procedures implementation by all ships and the Company Departments.
- Assist with the familiarization of new shore and seagoing personnel visiting the Office with the SMS requirements.
- Conduct audits onboard vessels when required
Requirements:
- Be a Marine Academy graduate or hold a Shipping related academic degree
- Proven record of relevant work experience of at least 4 years in a well-established ship management company
- Be a certified ISM, ISPS, MLC Auditor
- Be a certified ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Internal Auditor or at least hold a certificate in ISO 9001 & 14001 awareness.
- Professional knowledge of the English language
- Excellent PC skills (MS Office Suite)
- Knowledge of Benefit ERP will be considered a plus
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and interact efficiently with shore and ship teams
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to travel
