Role Overview
We are looking for a hands-on Electronics Assembly Integration and Testing (AIT) Technician to join our production team. You will be directly responsible for the manual assembly and soldering of high-reliability electronic hardware used in demanding environments such as space, aerospace, or defense applications.
This role suits a practical, detail-oriented technician who takes pride in precise, reliable work performed and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual and surface-mount soldering of electronic components in line with ECSS-Q-ST-70-08 and/or ECSS-Q-ST-70-38 standards.
- Assemble and rework printed circuit boards (PCBs), connectors, and harnesses to space-grade requirements.
- Follow detailed assembly instructions, drawings, and process documentation.
- Conduct visual self-inspection and flag any potential non-conformances to quality inspectors or supervisors.
- Work in ESD-safe and cleanroom environments, ensuring compliance with contamination and handling procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed for traceability and configuration control.
- Handle delicate components using microscopes, tweezers, and precision tools.
- Contribute to maintaining a tidy, safe, and organized workstation.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in electronics assembly or soldering (ideally 2+ years).
- Strong soldering and hand-assembly skills under microscopes.
- Basic knowledge of ESD control, cleanroom practices, and FOD prevention.
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and assembly procedures.
- Willingness to obtain required certifications if not already held.
- The position requires a high level of visual perception and accuracy due to the nature of the tasks involved
Preferred Background
- Previous experience in aerospace, satellite, or defense electronics manufacturing.
- Certified preferably to ECSS-Q-ST manual soldering) and/or ECSS-Q-ST surface-mount soldering). (Or equivalent certifications such as IPC-A610 and J-STD-001).
- Familiarity with ECSS-Q-ST crimping and connector assembly).
- Experience working with high-reliability or small-batch production environments.
