What you'll do

As a Backend Engineer at Fairlo, you'll be part of a team where collaboration, curiosity, and responsibility guide the way we work. We are looking for engineers who enjoy solving problems, writing clean, maintainable code, and being part of a team that creates financial services people can truly trust. In this role, you will work together with a passionate team in shaping the future of our core services and your work will involve:

• Build and maintain core services - from designing APIs to implementing integrations with AWS and third-party providers.
• Own the full development cycle - from requirements and architecture to coding, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• Ensure quality and scalability - keeping systems reliable, secure, and built to handle growth.
• Collaborate across functions - work closely with product, design, and other engineers to deliver user value quickly and iteratively.
• Continuously improve - challenge solutions, explore new technologies, and bring fresh ideas to keep Fairlo's platform evolving.

Requirements

As a Backend Engineer at Fairlo, we believe you:

• Have experience in backend development within a professional setting.
• Have hands-on experience with modern backend frameworks such as , , .NET / .NET Core, or Spring. Proficiency with relational databases is expected.
• Have a background that includes developing web applications optimized for cloud environments, particularly AWS.
• Have a solid grasp of web protocols, systems architecture, design principles, and patterns necessary to build scalable web applications.
• Are accustomed to working in an agile development environment and thrive in fast-paced, collaborative settings.
• Knows how essential good communication is, and are fluent in English as it is our working language.

Nice to have:

• Experience with web framework.
• Experience with Postgres.
• Experience with microservices.
• Experience in TDD and other testing practices.
• Contribution in open-source projects.
• University and/or Postgraduate Degree in the field of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Informatics or related field of studies.
