Director General

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Director General at the Museum of Byzantine Culture in the Thessaloniki Metropolitan Area. The Director General will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the museum, developing strategic plans, managing staff, and promoting the museum's mission and vision. This position has a three-year term and the possibility of renewal for two (2) additional terms of three years each.

Qualifications

• General qualifications: Candidates must: a) be Greek citizens or citizens of other member states of the European Union, or citizens of other states provided that they have excellent knowledge of the Greek language, b) have the qualifications for appointment and none of the obstacles to appointment set out in articles 5-10 of Law 3528/2007 (Government Gazette A' 26/2007).
• Special qualifications of candidates: a) a degree from a domestic or foreign university in byzantine archaeology, recognized by an act of a competent body or by recognition of professional equivalence, b) a doctoral degree from Greece, or one that is recognized as equivalent from abroad, in archaeology, in the history of art or other science relevant to the purposes, character and operation of the Museum of Byzantine Culture, c) documented excellent knowledge of Greek, English and of another language of a member state of the European Union, d) publications of recognized and reputable scientific works in Greece and/or internationally, and e) at least eight years of satisfactory organizational and administrative experience in a position of responsibility.
