Costa Navarino is looking for a Commis Chef. The selected candidate will adhere to hygiene protocols and brand standards at all times. They will possess a thorough knowledge of the menu and promptly inform supervisors of any discrepancies or damage. The candidate will complete tasks within established quality standards and timeframes, ensuring their work area and refrigerators are maintained in a clean and organized manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and baking of breads, rolls, pastries, and other bakery products according to the instructions of the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.

• Follow predefined recipes and production schedules to ensure consistency and timely service.

• Support daily preparation (mise en place), organization of ingredients, and stock management in the bakery.

• Operate bakery equipment (mixers, ovens, proofing chambers) safely and efficiently.

• Maintain cleanliness and order in the bakery area in accordance with HACCP and food safety standards.

• Label, store, and rotate raw materials to ensure freshness and minimize waste.

• Participate in the development of new recipes and menus inspired by local products and modern trends.

• Collaborate with the pastry and kitchen teams to meet guest and event requirements.

• Demonstrate curiosity, passion, and eagerness to learn from senior bakers and chefs.

• Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts, Bakery, or Pastry from a recognized institution (preferred).

• At least 1–2 years of experience in a bakery, hotel, or restaurant (experience in a luxury environment is an advantage).

• Basic knowledge of baking procedures, ingredients, and operation of bakery equipment.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality and presentation.

• Availability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays.

• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Good command of English; knowledge of Greek or other languages is an asset.
