Scope of role:

The main scope of the role is to manage technical aspects of the assigned fleet (1 Transhipment and 7 coasters) operating in west Africa, monitor and evaluate performance and arrange corrective action when required, attending vessels as necessary. The role reports directly to the Technical Manager and his Deputy.

Job description:


•    Together with Marine Dept, liaises with Class, Authorities, and third parties to ensure vessels comply with all relevant standards and maintain necessary certifications


•    Supervise technical operation of the vessel and provide technical support to Purchase operator for procurement of necessary spares.


•    Manages vessel budgets and expenses, approves orders and invoices as authorized.


•    Attending weekly meeting with Client and provide schedule reporting


•     Attends and leads vessel inspections, providing guidance on maintenance and repairs.


•     Coordinate activities of site team


•     Evaluate overall performance and propose improvements


•     Prepares and oversees shipyard selections, drydocking, major repairs, and technical

projects, ensuring financial and technical efficiency.


•     Implements and improves the Company SMS (Follow-up vessel's defects / maintain defect log and work on prompt rectification of defects), ensuring adherence to company policies.


•    Experienced in electronic PMS (handling and implementation where necessary) including training to crew and continuous improvement


•    Knowledge in guidance and monitoring vessel engine staff and in close cooperation with the Technical, MSQ and other departments to manage assigned vessels as per Company's policy and safety management system

Skills/ Qualifications:


•    Experience in transshipment operations or similar projects is highly valued and will be considered a strong advantage


•    Working knowledge of English language


•    Adequate PC Knowledge


•    People Management skills


•    Take initiative and propose solutions
