Senior Accountant

SEPTONA, one of the leading Greek companies in personal care operating in Greece and 70 countries globally, is seeking for an experienced Accountant to join our Finance Department. The role will be reporting to the Head of Accounting, based in our Inofita (Viotia) HQs. The role is responsible for managing and overseeing the regular operations of the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance and development of all processes and systems related to accounting and tax management

Responsibilities:

• Oversees the daily operations of the accounting department.
• Prepares the Entity's obligations to tax authorities (VAT, income tax, withholding taxes, other taxes, VIES).
• Supports month-end and year-end close process.
• Performs monthly reconciliations between the trial balance and subledgers [Fixed Asset Register, Warehouse detailed listing, Clients' / Suppliers' detailed listing].
• Monitors the transactions of the warehouse detailed listing.
• Ensures compliance with my DATA and e-books.
• Coordinates the annual statutory and tax audit

• Performs ad hoc projects.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business/Finance/Accounting.
• At least 5 years of work experience in Accounting Department, ideally in FMCG sector.
• Knowledge of GR-GAAP, IFRS and Tax regulations.
• Member of the Economic Chamber.
• Experience with bookkeeping systems and reporting software, knowledge of Galaxy is a strong asset.
• Fluency in Greek and English language (written and verbal).
• Ability to supervise a team, assertiveness, and integrity.
• Excellent communication, presentation and analytical skills.
• Ability to research issues at a detailed level and having enthusiasm for tackling complex issues.
• Open minded, decisive, strong business mindset & flexible.
