Role Description
This is a contract role for a Junior Sous Chef, based on cruise vessels around mediterrean sea, The Junior Sous Chef will support the kitchen team by preparing high-quality meals, assisting in menu creations, maintaining food safety standards, and supervising kitchen staff, The role entails maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in food preparation areas and ensuring that operations meet the company's high hospitality standards.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation
- Experience in kitchen operations, team supervision, and managing inventory
- Knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and kitchen equipment maintenance
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
- A culinary certification or equivalent qualification is required
- Previous experience in the cruise industry is an advantage
- Passion for Greek and Mediterranean cuisine is highly desirable
