VCL is looking to expand its team with a
postdoctoral researcher
specializing in
Machine Learning and Deep Learning
. We are a dynamic
research group
conducting cutting-edge research in computer vision, computer graphics, and AI-driven technologies, with applications across diverse fields.
Our work is primarily funded by the European Commission, and we are involved in several high-impact projects pushing the boundaries of technology. This is an
on-site position
offering exciting opportunities to contribute to state-of-the-art research while collaborating with leading experts across Europe.
WORK YOU'LL DO
As a Postdoctoral Researcher, your primary focus will be on research and innovation, including:
· Conducting research, by supervising research assistants, to push the state-of-the-art in areas such as computer graphics and computer vision research.
· Designing and implementing novel machine learning and deep learning algorithms to solve complex problems in data analysis and interpretation.
· Publishing high-quality papers in leading scientific journals and presenting findings at international conferences.
· Exploring new research directions, identifying challenges, and proposing innovative solutions to address them.
· Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure research results translate into practical, impactful applications.
· Spearhead a dedicated team to drive VCL's strategic engagement and successful delivery within EU-funded Horizon Europe projects and identify future funding opportunities.
· Mentoring junior researchers and facilitating knowledge exchange within the team.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications:
· A PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
· Strong programming skills in Python and C++, with experience in frameworks like PyTorch (or TensorFlow).
· Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing deep learning architectures for computer vision tasks.
· A strong research track record demonstrated by publications in top-tier conferences and journals.
· Experience in EU-funded research projects (Horizon Europe).
· Excellent written and spoken English.
· Ability to train and mentor young research assistants
· Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Nice-to-haves:
Familiarity with best practices in software development, version control, and testing.
