Latsco Shipping Ltd., is looking to recruit an HSQE Officer, based in our Athens office. The HSQE Officer will be responsible mainly for the Dry fleet and will report to the HSQE Manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Working closely with the DPA to ensure effective communication between shore and ship personnel concerning safety and pollution prevention aspects
  • Supporting the DPA in reporting, investigation, and analysis of non-conformities, incidents or any other findings
  • Promoting Company's Policies and ensuring that the Company's Management System is established, implemented and maintained
  • Participate in the briefing and familiarization process of sea personnel
  • Supporting the coordination of the Inspections by the Flag Administration, Audits or other inspections as required
  • Conducting Internal Audits in accordance with Company's Plan
  • Participating in assessing, reviewing and responding to Masters' Review reports
  • Assisting the DPA with the registration and review of Management of Changes
  • Following up the proper implementation of procedures related with periodical Management System activities, such as Near Miss reports and Complaints
  • Ensuring that the lessons learnt are communicated across the organization
  • Preparing, monitoring & evaluating Campaigns, as applicable

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • University Degree, either with a technical background or in maritime studies
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in a relevant safety-related position
  • Familiarity with RightShip will be considered a plus
  • Experience in multiple vessel segments will be considered an asset
  • Familiar with ISM/ISPS/MLC & ISO 9001/14001/45001/50001
  • Fluency in both written and oral communication in English
  • Flexible with travelling abroad
  • Analytical skills with and ability to evaluate problems, and recommend decisions
  • Customer focus and collaboration, understanding customers & stakeholders and building partnerships
  • Proactiveness and accountability, with a mindset to act with ownership, and achieve results
