Senior Accountant

Are you a Senior Accountant with a Class A licence or a similar level or expertise, experience around Greek Law 27-75 and Law 89, and ideally some exposure to payroll and treasury?

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to handle a lot of the accounting, payroll, and tax, for the Greek entities of our commodity trading and shipping business. Commodity trading and shipping experience is welcome but not necessary, we are looking for someone who is happy getting their hands on lots of different tasks and aspects of the business.

The Company

ArrowResources AG is a global commodity trading house headquartered in Switzerland and is seeking candidates for Senior Accountant to join its rapidly growing business.  The ArrowResources group of companies is an integrated commodities trading house, actively trading base metals, concentrates, ores, natural gas, LNG, power, crude oil and oil products.

Responsibilities

Management:

• Effectively develop and implement structured reporting solutions to facilitate the trading activities business including decision making support.

Transactions:

• Review and comment on material business transactions from financial perspective.
• Review and analyze costs associated with business
• Prepare and implement business models, systems and flows
• Provide all necessary support to Operations and Trading teams on all trade transactions

Reporting:

• Implement and manage a global reporting, budgeting and forecasting system to aid business decision making.
• Cash flow reporting and projections
• Accounting reconciliations wherever required and review with an analytical perspective.
• Maintain transaction wise cost records to the best extent possible and constantly update the same.
• Review, develop and implement cost capturing and reporting systems within the organisation in tandem with various departments.
• Compare actual results with budgets and forecasts and analyse and report on differences.
• Provide financial analyses as needed for pricing decisions and contract negotiations.

Compliance:

• Review and provide comments on the purchase and sales contracts with respect to the financial and profit-making perspective.
• Provision of information to internal and external auditors for all reviews and audits.

Accounting

• Coordinating accounting functions and programs, processes and systems.
• Preparing standalone and consolidated financial analyses and reports.
• Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure.
• Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
• Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Coordinating financial statements audit process
• Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
• Preparing federal, state, local, and special tax returns.
• Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
• Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.

Requirements

Your skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally within a shipping, commodity and/or energy trading environment
• Working knowledge of Greek tax laws 27-75 and 89
• Experience in working with Benefit and SAP would be a strong asset.
• Strong financial analysis skills.
• Fluent Greek and excellent English
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational and stress management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
