Senior Safety Specialist

Job Overview:

Energean is a leading oil and gas exploration and production company in the East Mediterranean, committed to delivering safe and responsible operations. We are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join our team in Kavala, Greece, reporting to the Head of HSE.

About the Role:

• The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of installations and technical means before operation, as well as monitoring production processes and working methods.
• They will supervise the implementation of occupational health and safety measures, inspect work positions, and report any omissions to the employer.
• This role involves ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment, assisting in selecting appropriate equipment, and monitoring its effectiveness.
• The Safety Engineer will also participate in training and implementing employee health and safety training programs.
• They will be involved in planning construction and maintenance activities, organizing production processes, introducing new processes, and configuring and arranging the working environment.
• The successful candidate will ensure that site employees adhere to health and safety rules, inform and guide them to prevent occupational hazards, investigate accident causes, analyze and evaluate results, and propose preventive measures.
• This role requires coordinating asset safety team activities, reviewing daily safety reports, contributing to safety case development, and providing weekly, monthly, and annual safety reports.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree in Mining Engineering or Mineral Resources Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a relevant or similar health and safety position in the industry.
• Experience in health and safety, as a Safety Engineer, with knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
• Excellent command of English and Greek language (oral and written communication).
• Computer literate and experienced with MS Office suite of applications.
