Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Data Specialist to oversee the management, optimization, and maintenance of our data processing infrastructure built on Databricks and AWS.

This critical role will ensure seamless operation of analytics and data engineering workloads while upholding performance, security, and reliability standards.

  • Oversee production/QA/DEV environments and workloads.
  • Guarantee high platform availability and resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Administer and tune AWS infrastructure, Databricks, and Spark clusters for efficiency.
  • Manage workspace configuration, compute resources, and user access.
  • Conduct platform health checks, monitor logs, and perform root cause analysis.
Key Accountabilities
  1. Support and troubleshoot production environments.
  2. Ensure platform availability and resolve operational issues quickly.
  3. Administer and maintain AWS infrastructure, Databricks, and Spark clusters.
  4. Manage workspace configuration, compute resources, and user access.
Requirements

Education, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in big data operations, platform support, or cloud data infrastructure.
  • Proficient with AWS, Databricks, Delta Lake, and Apache Spark.
  • Strong skills in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with CI/CD, release management, and modern SDLC practices.
Preferred Skills
  • Databricks certifications.
  • Experience with Airflow or other orchestration tools.
  • Knowledge of Unity Catalog or other data governance platforms.
