Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Safety Engineer to join our team in Kavala, Greece. As a Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of our employees and contractors at our onshore and offshore installations.

Your primary duties will include monitoring the safety of installations and technical means before their operation, supervising the implementation of occupational health and safety measures, and conducting regular inspections to identify potential hazards.

You will also be responsible for ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment, assisting in the selection of appropriate equipment, and monitoring their effectiveness. Additionally, you will participate in the training and implementation of employee health and safety training programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Safety Engineer registered to the Occupational Office according to Greek Law 3850/2010 and MD D7/A/12050/2023/2011 for the onshore and offshore installations.\
• Monitor the safety of installations and technical means before their operation.\
• Supervise the implementation of occupational health and safety measures.\
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards.\
• Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment.\
• Assist in the selection of appropriate equipment and monitor their effectiveness.\
• Participate in the training and implementation of employee health and safety training programs.\
• Coordinate the activities of the asset safety team and review daily safety reports.\
• Contribute to the development and review of safety cases.\
• Provide weekly, monthly, and annual safety reports.\

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a degree in Mining Engineering or Mineral Resources Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant or similar health and safety position in the industry.

You should have excellent command of English and Greek language (oral and written communication), as well as computer literacy and experience with MS Office suite of applications.

Desirable Qualifications

Prior experience in Occupational Health & Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001), development of Occupational Risk Assessment and emergency evacuation procedures, and effective computer user skills would be advantageous.
