A Strategic Product Owner for Agile SW Product Development Teams

Job Description

As a strategic product owner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our agile software product development teams. Your key responsibilities will include defining and prioritizing user stories at the sprint level, ensuring thorough refinement and effective planning. You will also manage the product backlog and coordinate refinement sessions while guiding the agile team in delivering valuable product increments using advanced technologies and agile-at-scale methodologies.

Additionally, you will interact with software engineering teams, chief product owners, and product managers to design, plan, and deliver functional product increments for complex public sector digitalization projects. This includes evaluating progress and mitigating risks to ensure successful outcomes.

Other key responsibilities will include contributing to wireframe design, documenting domain details and requirements, facilitating customer sessions, and collaborating with software engineers and testers to ensure alignment and progress towards product milestones.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field; a master's degree is a plus
  • 6+ years of experience as an IT business analyst or product owner or product manager
  • Experience with large-scale software implementation projects, preferably in the public sector, taxation, or customs domains. Proven ability to collaborate within teams using various software development methodologies, including agile delivery for product development
  • Skilled in utilizing Jira and Confluence, along with Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of UX/UI principles and their role in shaping product development
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, enabling effective interaction with technical and non-technical stakeholders while demonstrating strong leadership and team-influencing abilities
  • Strategic thinking, problem-solving focus, and commitment to continuous improvement
  • Excellent organizational capabilities with attention to detail
  • Fluency in the English language
