About the Job
You will be responsible for monitoring the safety of installations and technical means before operation and production processes prior to implementation. You will supervise occupational health and safety measures, inspect work positions for health and safety at work, report any omission, propose measures, and supervise their implementation. You will ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and oversee the execution of fire and alarm drills and exercises to ensure accidents preparedness.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Safety Engineer registered to the Occupational Office according to Greek Law 3850/2010 and MD D7/A/12050/2023/2011 for onshore and offshore installations.
- Monitor safety of installations and technical means before operation and production processes prior to implementation.
- Supervise occupational health and safety measures.
- Inspect work positions for health and safety at work, report any omission, propose measures, and supervise their implementation.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Oversee the execution of fire and alarm drills and exercises to ensure accidents preparedness.
- Involved with planning of construction and maintenance activities, organization of production process, introduction of new processes, and configuration and arrangement of working environment.
- Ensure site employees adhere to health and safety rules at work.
- Investigate causes of accidents at work, analyse and evaluate results, and propose measures to prevent such accidents.
- Assure all safety and fire protection equipment are in good operable condition.
- Watch for new chemicals used in plant and update file with Material Safety Data Sheets.
- Coordinate asset safety team and review daily safety reports.
- Contribute to development and reviews of safety cases.
- Provide weekly, monthly, and annual safety reports.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you must have a degree in Mining Engineering or Mineral Resources Engineering. You should have minimum 5 years of experience in relevant or similar health and safety position in industry. Experience in health and safety as a Safety Engineer – Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation is essential. Excellent command of English and Greek language (oral and written communication) is required. Computer literate and experienced with MS Office suite of applications is also necessary.
