Job Title: In-House Counsel - Environmental Law Expert

 

We are seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented In-House Counsel to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified legal professional with experience in environmental law to make a significant impact in shaping the company's compliance strategy.

 

As an In-House Counsel, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on all aspects of environmental law, including waste management, energy, and regulatory compliance. Your expertise will help ensure that our operations align with applicable laws and regulations, minimizing the risk of non-compliance and associated penalties.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law, contracts, and dispute resolution, as well as experience working in the environmental services or energy sectors. You will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and external authorities to ensure seamless execution of our business strategies.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing guidance on environmental regulations and advising on strategic initiatives related to waste management and energy efficiency.
  • Reviewing and drafting contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Representing the company in negotiations, mediations, and arbitrations to resolve disputes and protect its interests.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential risks and opportunities.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Greek Law; LLM in Corporate or Environmental Law is highly advantageous.
  • Admission to the Bar in Greece (or another EU country) is mandatory.
  • Minimum 7 years post-qualification experience in law firms or corporate environments, with clear exposure to corporate law matters. Public procurement experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the environmental services or energy sectors is also highly beneficial.
  • Fluent in Greek and English (written and spoken).
